An edited version of the opening plenary address given at the launch of the University's new Bauman Institute by Neal Lawson, Chair of Compass was published on the open democracy website today.

The Bauman Institute is a new international research and teaching
centre established in honour of Leeds’ Emeritus Professor, Zygmunt Bauman. It was launched at a major international conference in Spetember 2010 - Re-thinking Global Society.
