Dr Teela Sanders in Northern Lights top 50
Dr Teela Sanders, Reader in Sociology, University of Leeds has been awarded a place in the Northern Lights Top 50 for her high-profile and influential voice on the UK sex industry, and widespread media responses to her current study on lap dancing.
The Institute for Public Policy announced its Northern Lights 2011 as a part of a wider look at where ideas, innovation and inspiration will come from over the next few years as the North of England seizes the challenges and opportunities ahead.
This is the inaugural edition of ippr north's Northern Lights Top 50, and highlights the best and the boldest with the aim to help our communities shirk any notion that it’s grim up North.
The Northern Lights list is wide-ranging and includes Members of Parliament, young entrepreneurs, academics, writers, councillors, community activists, business leaders and creatives.
