Dr Emma-Reetta Koivunen
Research Fellow
I am a research fellow at CIRCLE, working as project manager in ‘AKTIVE’ project studying telecare use in households.
I recently completed my PhD in Manchester Metropolitan University and before that my Master of Social Studies in Social Anthropology in University of Helsinki, Finland.
I also have research experience from working in private sector on health and wellbeing and housing consultancies, and working in a research project studying internet use and e-commerce in rural Finland (in University of Tampere, Finland).
Research Interests
My research interests include social studies of technology; technology use in everyday life (e.g. telecare, internet use); domestication of technology; tourism anthropology and anthropology of Shetland Islands
Teaching
I am not teaching at the moment, but I have previous experience of teaching undergraduate students in Manchester Metropolitan University in Media and Communications topics.
