Mr Benedict Singleton
Research Officer

I am currently working on the DH Demonstrator Sites and DH Caring With Confidence projects: both team-based, mixed-method evaluations. Prior to this post I completed a MSc in International Development and Management at Lunds Universitet in Sweden and a BA in Social Anthropology at the Queen’s University. I have experience conducting fieldwork abroad in Zambia and Jamaica on the topic of HIV/AIDS.
Research Interests
My previous research experience has focused on individuals’ perceptions of HIV/AIDS. A recurring theme is ‘accessing citizenship’ – individuals’ decisions taking on the ‘HIV+ identity'. Increasingly I am interested in how international discourses affect these identities and how opposition to dominant norms is formulated by cooperation among diverse groups.
