Dr Mark Davis speaking at the Leeds Salon

Dr Mark Davis will be speaking at the May Leeds Salon on Thursday 11 May entitled, ‘Can We Manufacture An Economic Renaissance?’

Responding from a sociological perspective, Mark will be part of a critical panel reflecting on economist Phil Mullan’s presentation and new book, ‘Creative Destruction: How to start an economic renaissance’. He will be joined by Leeds University Business School’s Professor Andrew Brown.

How do we create an economic renaissance? Do we need a bout of creative destruction, or should caution still reign? And does Brexit offer important opportunities to act decisively to renew British capitalism? Phil will answer these questions, before Mark and Andrew respond.

The event is part of a series of events organised by the Leeds Salon. The Salon organises public discussion around contemporary political, cultural and scientific issues, with the aim of challenging any orthodoxies along the way.

It is being held in the Millennium Room at the Carriageworks Theatre 19:00 – 20:30.

Places can be reserved by emailing contact@leedssalon.org.uk
