Ms Suzanne Hallam
Director of Student Education; School Equality and Diversity Officer; Faculty Admissions and Widening Participation Coordinator
I am the Director of Student Education in the School and also the School's Equality and Diversity Officer.
In both of these roles, I am keen to support students to achieve their potential and to enhance the student experience. I am also interested in widening participation to higher education.
I am interested in issues surrounding widening participation in higher education, for example, in relation to student retention and the educational experiences of people that have experienced public care as children. In addition, I am interested in social and political theory, in particular, democratic theory.
I teach on the BA Social Science programme. This is a widening participation initiative, intended to increase participation in Higher Education by under-represented groups. I enjoy teaching on the programme and, at present, I contribute to teaching the Traditions of Thought module.
