Three Quota studentships in Social Research, Gender Studies and Social Policy training pathways within the White Rose Doctoral Training Centre.

DEADLINE: Now extended to 17th February 2012.  Please note that this is the deadline for submitting the ESRC application form, you must be holding an offer of a place to be considered for nomination for an award.  You are strongly advised to submit your application(s) for a place well in advance of this to allow time for the decision making process.

Entry Requirements

Students entering on a 1+3 or +3 basis should have, at minimum, a good 2.1 degree qualification, and, additionally, if on a +3 basis, a Masters level qualification in a relevant field from an ESRC recognised outlet, or an appropriate research training programme.

How to apply

The School will nominate applicants for consideration by the White Rose DTC Academic Quality Committee, which will make decisions on the final awards (expected end of March 2012).

Applicants must submit an application for postgraduate study AND  and application for an ESRC studentship.

To be eligible for nomination all applicants must be holding an offer of a place on the 1+3 or +3 programmes.  See How to Apply for details on making an application. Applicants are strongly advised to submit applications for postgraduate study well in advance of the ESRC application deadline and ensure that all supporting documentation is available, this includes:

  • Full transcripts (or transcript of results to date where a degree result is not yet known)
  • Two academic references
  • A Research Proposal (see how to apply for guidance)

ESRC WR DTC Advanced Quantitative Methods (AQM) Studentships

Deadline for applications: 17 February 2012

There is also the opportunity to nominate candidates for up to four scholarships in Advanced Quantitative, which are available to applicants who intend to use Advanced Quantitative Methods in their project (in particular using large-scale datasets), with appropriate training in relevant pathways.
