School Scholarships
The school invites applications for the following awards from postgraduate taught students who wish to commence study in September 2012.
Applications for postgraduate study must be submitted prior to, or at the same time as, applications for scholarships.
Teaching and Research Training Scholarships 2012-2013
The School of Sociology and Social Policy will be offering up to two bursaries to candidates from the United Kingdom or other European Union countries to commence full-time study in September 2012 on the four year MA Social Research + PhD programme (1+3) or 3 year PhD programme (+3).
The bursaries will cover full fees and a basic maintenance grant plus payment for teaching duties equivalent in total to the ESRC maintenance grant (the amount for 2011/12 is £13,590) and up to a further £750 per annum for research training expenses.
Closing date for applications - Tuesday 1 May 2012
Short listed candidates will be invited for interviews, which will be held on 22 May 2012.

Bauman Institute Masters Scholarship
The School of Sociology and Social Policy is delighted to announce a Masters Scholarship at the Bauman Institute and invites applications for funding from UK students who wish to commence postgraduate study in September 2012. This award covers the full cost of fees only and is available for students registering for either of the Bauman Institute’s MA programmes, namely MA Social and Political Thought and MA International Social Transformation.

Partial Fee Bursaries and matched funding for students with sponsors
There are a number of partial awards available to UK, EU and International students commencing study in September 2012 on any of the School's MA programmes on a full-time or part-time basis. If an applicant is able to secure partial fee sponsorship, the School may match the funding.
To be considered, applicants must provide written confirmation from the sponsor with the amount of the contribution and a supporting statement (300 words max) on or before the deadline. The deadline for applications to be received in the School is 6 July 2012.

Full Fee Bursaries for International Students
The School offers one full-fee bursary for a full-time International student commencing study on any of the School's MA programmes, based on an assessment of prior academic excellence. The deadline for applications to be received in the School is 30 March 2012.
