Lunchtime Conversations - Concerted Cultivation? Parenting, class and children's organised activities - Sarah Irwin and Sharon Elley
Room 11.20, Social Sciences Building
These informal sessions were designed to encourage a weekly time and place for colleagues to meet which becomes a habit and a positive part of the working culture and environment. We also want to encourage postgraduate students to be an integrated part of the intellectual communality and feel part of the School. Equally, we wanted to provide an informal space for informed intelligent conversation and debate which is based on the interesting work we are thinking, writing and researching about. Therefore the key aims are to share and communicate the work we are doing in order to create general discussions around our disciplinary areas. The programme is robust and entertaining and the high attendance has demonstrated how important this space is in our busy timetables.
