This study will explore the experiences of siblings of people with ‘learning difficulties’ from the standpoint of social model approaches to disability; conceptualising disability as a social process rather than a characteristic of individuals,

Working with a national voluntary organisation, the research will seek to contribute to the ongoing goal of empowerment amongst people with ‘learning difficulties’ and their families by producing evidence that can be used in campaigning work with policy makers, and in service planning and delivery.
