Single Voices: Understanding Singledom in a Cross-Cultural Comparison between Italy and Britain

Planned Submission Date: 30 September 2011

This research is aiming towards the understanding of the meaning “singleton” and its parameters, such as behaviour in the early adulthood and how this is embedded in the personal relationships of single people. A longitudinal, qualitative and cross-cultural research will be carried out in two different social contexts: Yorkshire and Sicily, where values like family, and especially the bonding of its members, are still very strong.
