Ms Betul Yalcin

Research Assistant

I was appointed as an Early Stage Researcher at School of Sociology and Social Policy on 1 September 2011. I am one of the two Marie Curie Fellows working for DREAM Network. From 1997 untill the aforementioned date, I have worked for the Prime Ministry Administration for Disabled People (ADP) which is the leading governmental organization responsible for formulating the national policy on disability in the Turkish Republic. I have a BA degree in Psychology from Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey. I have completed my first MSC degree on Developmental Psychology at METU. In 2009, I got another MSC degree on Comparative Social Policy from University of Oxford as Jean Monett Scholar.

Research Interests

My research interest are mainly related with the integration of people with disabilities into the open labour market, as well as employer and employee attitudes. On the other hand, I had also conducted researches and carried out activities regarding child welfare and children with intellectual disabilities during my professional tenure.
